Before launching Knocdic, our design team spent months testing the limits of 3D printing questioning if it could create truly durable, functional, and beautiful coffee accessories.
After countless prototypes and improvements, we discovered that 3D printing could deliver durable, eco-friendly and beautiful tools with precision, customisation, and minimal waste, all while staying true to our design principles.

The Beginning of Knocdic
Knocdic was founded in September 2024 out of a deep love for coffee and a frustration with uninspired tools on the market. We started by designing our first knock box and selling it through Etsy, where it quickly gained traction among home baristas and design lovers alike.

It’s lovely! Just the right size for a day of coffees for the two of us, plastic is solid and feels robust, wooden bar fits well but can be slid out to clean if needed.
Only things that stop it being a 5
- the two tone colour effect in the photos doesn’t show up in real life, it’s so one colour (which is lovely) so I assume that’s just lighting - but it means it’s a bit misleading and wasn’t quite what I expected. Lovely none the less!
- wooden bar doesn’t appear to be treated at all, it immediately absorbs any wetness and marks, so I’m going to need to oil it. This could easily be done at the point of manufacture, but no great hardship to do at home

- On the two-tone effect you mentioned, it tends to show up more strongly in our metallic and galaxy series, especially under sunlight, while the matte olive green you chose has a more subtle finish.
- Each knock bar is treated with Danish oil in our studio, but your experience suggests we may need to review our process or consider using a different oil. We really appreciate you highlighting this.

Really pleased, theh piece is very light and well made, so many lovely colour choices but in the end decided on metallic green and its actually a bit sparkly, it's lovely!
