PLA is a plant-based material that allows us to create lightweight, colourful, design-led espresso accessories with less waste. We use it because it supports small-batch production, custom colours, and precise sculptural shapes. Like most PLA products, it should be kept away from high heat, dishwashers, and prolonged soaking.

All our products — from knock boxes to WDT tools — are designed and made-to-order in our studio based in Nottingham, UK. By crafting in-house, we maintain strict quality control and reduce excess inventory waste.

Our tools are crafted using high-quality PLA and go through extensive real-world testing to ensure durability, strength, and performance. When 3D printed with precision (as we do) PLA offers excellent structural integrity, making it ideal for knock boxes, WDT tools, and other essential espresso accessories.

We recommend cleaning with room-temperature water and mild soap. Please avoid dishwashers or soaking for long periods, as excessive heat or moisture can affect the lifespan of 3D printed materials. Dry thoroughly before storing or using.

Both versions use the same needle setup for even espresso distribution. The magnetic WDT is perfect for tidy setups. It sticks to your espresso machine. The standing version is freestanding with a base for convenience and display.

Small is best for 1–2 coffees per day or compact counters. Medium suits most daily home espresso setups. Large is best for couples, heavier use, or larger portafilters. If you are unsure, we recommend sizing up.

Our knock boxes are not dishwasher safe. As they are 3D printed using PLA (a plant-based material), exposure to high heat and steam in dishwashers may cause warping or surface damage. We recommend hand-washing with mild soap and room-temperature water, then drying thoroughly.

Under normal use, no. KNOCDIC tools are designed for daily home espresso use. To keep them in the best condition, avoid dishwashers, boiling water, direct heat, and leaving them near very hot surfaces.
