FAQs

What size knock box do I need?

It depends on how many coffees you make before emptying it. Small suits one or two a day, medium suits most homes, and large suits busy setups. For a 58mm portafilter, choose medium or large. Each product page lists how many pucks that model holds.

How many pucks does a knock box hold?

It depends on the model and size. Our boxes hold from about 2–3 pucks (Oval, small) up to about 12–14 pucks (Nordic, large). Each product page shows the exact range for that model.

What are KNOCDIC knock boxes made from?

The body is 3D printed in PLA. The knock bar is real oak.

Are KNOCDIC knock boxes dishwasher safe?

No. Hand wash only with warm water. Avoid the dishwasher, high heat and long soaking.

What is a knock box, and do I need one for home espresso?

A knock box is a small bin for used espresso pucks. You tap the portafilter on its bar and the puck drops in. It keeps grounds out of your sink and bin, and keeps your counter cleaner.

Will it fit my 58mm portafilter?

Yes, in medium and large. We don't recommend small for a 58mm portafilter. Each product page lists the size of the box, so you can check it fits next to your machine.

Are 3D printed layer lines normal?

Yes. Fine layer lines are part of 3D printing and don't affect how the knock box works.

Where are they made and how fast do they ship?

We 3D print every knock box to order in our UK studio and send it out within 1–3 working days. UK delivery is free. Europe and the US take about 5–10 working days: 15 EU countries, including France, Germany and Spain, are £7.99 (free over £70, full list on Delivery and Returns), Switzerland and Norway £14.99 (free over £100), and 3D printed knock boxes ship free to the US.

Is the knock bar removable?

Yes. The oak bar lifts out so you can wash it. Hand wash the box itself, as it isn't dishwasher safe.
